Hey there, y'all -
Thank you.
No, seriously...thank you.
We have two outstanding, contrasting, small-scale but deeply-engaging shows to share with this community as of tonight, and I'm not only excited for the audiences that'll get to experience those shows in February, but also for the wonderful teams that'll be building them piece by piece, as well as the future of this company given the amazing talent, passion, and potential. Amazing work.
These shows, and the folks who've lent us their talents this past week, have allowed us to flex our range quite a bit: a big, physical comedy, and a gritty sports crossover. Consequently, we have some new faces in new places, as well as a new opportunity that I'll explain below...
-Swings-
We are going to be offering a unique opportunity for three actors to support The Wolves in roles known in theatre as Swings. The folks who are being offered the Swings position are new/developing members of the company for whom some time involved with the production process may help their overall development in terms of future opportunities. While many of the details of the Swings roles will be determined in collaboration with the prime cast, director, and management, some of the features/obligations will be these:
-Each Swing will be responsible for preparing and shadowing 2-3 roles in the show
-Each Swing will attend the initial table work and early rehearsals, with the remainder of the schedule to be determined later
-Swings will not be guaranteed a show, but should be available to perform...but will be guaranteed a run crew slot, and an invited audience opportunity to perform at the preview or pickup rehearsal to share with family and friends.
I will be asking the four people listed as prospective swings to join me for a short meeting at 345pm Monday, 12/9 to talk about the opportunity in more detail.
